COMMON ADMISSION TEST (CAT),1.94 LAKH REGISTER FOR CAT-2013
Hyderabad, October 7: Common Admission Test (CAT)- 2013, entrance graduates and employees take to secure the coveted Masters in Business Administration (MBA) seats in premium business schools (B-Schools) in the country, saw 1,94,500 registrations this year though 1,96,00 vouchers were sold. While Delhi topped with its share of maximum registrations, Hyderabad stood second followed by Bangalore. Mumbai was the fifth position. Registration for the test ended on Sept 26.
A new aspect, online registration for the test was introduced by the management institutes this year along with the regular mode. On the whole, 65 per cent of the people registered online. CAT-2013 will be held over a period of 20 days from 16th October to 11th November in test centers across 40 cities this year. Last year, the test was held in 36 cities, a press release said. It added that 115 seats have been added in the IIMs taking the total to 3,335. Across the 40 cities, the test will be conducted in 76 centers which include 4 centers in Hyderabad and one each in Vijayawada and Visakhapatnam. The results are scheduled to be released on 14th January.
